Building the Highway: Why Infrastructure Wins

There’s a useful analogy for what’s happening in digital finance right now. Everyone is building cars. Tokenized treasuries. Yield products. Payment applications. Real estate platforms.
Almost nobody is building the roads.
Infrastructure captures value from everything above it
Every digital financial product needs to be issued, custodied, traded, and settled. These aren’t features. They’re requirements. The infrastructure that handles these functions at institutional scale, with regulatory standing, is the layer that everything else depends on.
The scale of what’s coming
UK Gilts: £2.6 trillion. US Treasuries: $30 trillion. Eurozone sovereign debt: €12 trillion. Sovereign debt is the collateral foundation of the entire financial system. The infrastructure that settles these instruments settles everything above them.
Why governance matters at this layer
Infrastructure this consequential can’t be owned by one company. It needs to be governed by its participants, with transparent decision-making, fiduciary accountability, and the ability to evolve through community consensus.
That’s the role of MNE and the Monee DAO. Not governing an application. Governing the infrastructure that applications depend on.
The position
The roads are being laid right now. Not when the traffic is already flowing. MNE gives the community a seat at the table while the infrastructure is still being built.
